TGIF!

I have this weekend off from swap meets. Then I have some more coming up real soon. It's nice to have a weekend at home though after two busy weekends. The farmers have been busy this week. They finished planting the crops yesterday.

Thunder is now two weeks old. His ears haven't decided what they want to do yet. His dam is a Nubian and his sire is an Alpine. Sometimes he has them hanging down like a Nubian and other times he has them up. All I know it they look huge right now but I know he will grow into them.

Since it was raining today I spent more time indoors and was able to upload several new things to my store.

Been a Busy Day Already

I brushed and bathed all three horses. My billy goat, Dobie, also got a bath and a nice walk down the country roads. The farmers are still busy out in the fields planting today. I might try and get some photos of them at work later this afternoon. I took Hope, my dog, on a walk last night out with the camera but the farmers had gone on a supper break so they weren't out in the fields at that time. They worked late into the night and came back early this morning. This year it will be soybeans grown in the fields.

Here is a photo I recently took and have added textures to from various sources. It's a feather from on of my Muscovy hens that blew out of the nest they are sitting on and got stuck on a weed. Hopefully in just a few more weeks there will be little Muscovy ducklings running around the farm.

More Standardbred Items

I enjoyed watching the horses at practice on the track over the weekend when I was at a swap meet. I took several photos and I have been playing around with them and adding textures to them. Here are some of them.

Thunder is Growing Fast

Thunder is growing so fast. He loves to bounce and run around the pasture. He is so friendly. I took some photos of him at a week old. I can't believe tomorrow he will be two weeks old. Time sure does fly. I'll probably take some more photos of him later today. And of course I will take photos of some flowers, chickens, and whatever else also while I have the camera out.

Apple has just gone broody, which means she is sitting on eggs to hatch, so hopefully with luck next month I will have some little ducklings running around. I'm so glad they didn't pass that stupid law that would have made Muscovy ducks illegal to own except with a federal permit.

I think the neighbor lady thought I must be crazy when I was laying down in the grass in the pasture taking photos. She kept staring over at me. I was taking photos of the wildflowers and pretty weeds.

Long Weekend

It was a long weekend with two swap meets. I am still tired from getting around so early both days and then spending all day out in the sun and wind both days. I sold a few things which was good. Some people didn't sale their stuff and then just threw it in the trash after the swap meet. What a shame. I saw this pretty bird for sale for $800 at the one swap meet. He/She was just sitting there on a perch. I thought to myself what happens if that bird flies away? Anyways... later in the day I saw someone had bought it. I can't remember what kind of bird they said it was but it sure was pretty.

There was a horse track next to the fairgrounds at the one swap meet this weekend. There were a few horses out there and I got a few photos of the Standardbred horses out on the track.
