I've added several new business card designs to my Zazzle store recently.
Here are a few of them.
I'll be working on some new designs and adding even more to the store in the future. I haven't been keeping my blog very current here lately. I was going to try to post daily this year but it looks like that won't be happening. Instead I will try to post something at least once a week on the blog. I've been busy working on new art, doing things around the farm, and reading some books. I bought a box full of books at auction awhile back and am trying to get them read so I can resale them this spring as soon as the swap meets start back up. I am so looking forward to spring. Can't wait for garden weather, swap meets, broody hens, baby chicks, ect. that spring will bring. Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Burr!
Burr! It sure is cold outside. I'm been staying indoors as much as possible this week and working on some new artwork.
I've combined one of my poppy photos with a texture from Paper Digital Art and ImagesbyKim and also a Playingwithbrushes texture to create "Poppy Marie."
I've added a Shadowhouse Creations texture to this barn photo I took back in Nov. of 2010.
"Vintage Red Bird" is a combination of my photography and vintage images.
I've also sent several more of my photography, digital art, and vintage files over to 3drose.com the past week and they will soon be up for sale there and also at Amazon.com as well.
The hatchery catalogs have been arriving in the mail along with the seed catalogs. So I am now dreaming of spring flowers and chicks. I think I want to add some different breeds to the flock this spring and am also hoping for a few broodies in the flock that will hatch out some new chicks. Last year I didn't have any broody hens but the year before I had a few.

Some New Artwork
I played around this weekend with some textures from jinterwas on Flickr in the Handmade textures set. If you use any of her textures please give give her credit for them. Thanks.
I'll probably play around today and see what else I can create. It is fun to just play and see what happens. What better to do on a nasty icy winter day. It is forecast to snow later todat but right now we have freezing rain. It is stuck to the windows so you can't really see out them any more. I'm crossing my fingers the ice layer doesn't get too thick and cause us to loose power. The schools were delayed two hours today when I first woke up but now I am seeing more of them being cancelled for the day instead as they scroll across the bottom of the tv screen.
It seems like this month has been flying by. How are you doing on your new year resolutions? I'm still following mine to have fun and create art. :) Have a great week.

Awards
It's been a great day. I popped in at Printpop and saw my print, "Weeds Can Be Pretty Too" is the Print of the Day. The watermarks as shown above will not be on the actual print. Then I also found that I got a Today's Best Award at Zazzle for my business card shown below.

New Necklaces
I seem to be on a bird theme right now. I love birds. I've added several new necklaces to my Zazzle store in the past few days and they all seem to have birds on them since apparently I am on a bird theme right now. I didn't plan to be on a bird theme it just happened. Okay, so on to the necklaces.
A Vintage hummingbird I digitally altered to remove the Christmas greeting so it could be used for any day and then also added one of my own textures to.
A vintage sparrow with a vintage handwritten background. The background is used with thanks to Paper Digital Art and ImagesbyKim.

I also have one that can be anything you want it to be. All you need to do is add you own photo or artwork.
It's fun to design on a smaller scale to create these necklaces. It's also not as messy to get creative and design as the handmade OOAK necklaces I was making during the summer to sale at the farmers markets. Some days I would have beads, vintage findings, wire, ect. scattered all over the place as I was designing and making those necklaces.

Creating and Loving It
So far so good. I am following my new year's resolution to have fun and create art for my Zazzle store. Above is on of the newest birthday cards in the store.
Here is one of the newest necklaces in the store.
I'm loving playing around with the vintage bird images I have in my collection and creating new works of art with them. I've also used a vintage bird in one of the newest greeting cards in the store.
It's such fun creating for the Zazzle store and avoiding the other store that I used to design for but am no longer going to be designing for. I thought about deleting that store all together but I am going to leave it up since I spent so much time the past few years getting all the designs in the store. I just won't add anything new to it this year and instead all my new artworks will go into my Zazzle store and some will also be sold locally at the store here in town and also at the Farmer's Markets when they start back up again in late spring. Now I feel like creating some more new art so I will see you sometime later. Have a great day! :)

Happy First Monday of 2011
Hello. I hope you had a Happy New Year. I have plans to be creative in 2011. I am giving up creating cards for a certain company which I will not name where the reviewers are difficult to deal with and I going to create more for my Zazzle store. I love to create for Zazzle and don't have to deal with reviewers there except for certain products like shoes and stamps and then the reviews are simple as long as you follow the rules with no questioning and rude remarks from reviewers.
So one of my resolutions this year is to create more and have fun creating art for my Zazzle store.

I was happy to see I sold some of my egg business cards this morning. Thanks to the purchaser. :)
Now if only the hens would start laying eggs again. They seem to have gone on a winter strike except for a few pullets who have just started to lay. The crazy weather changes have them messed up as well. On Friday it was in the fifties and then by the end of the day had dropped back to below freezing. Friday morning and afternoon all the duck hens were out and about searching for places to start laying eggs to start nesting and now they are wondering why spring ran away and winter came back. Well, I better go get some work done now. I hope that you have a wonderful year this year.

Hope your Holiday Was Merry
I hope that your holiday weekend was merry. We had a white Christmas here.
I took this photo of Comet just as the snow started to fall on Christmas eve.
I also took this photo and then added grunge textures to it. I know it is too late to sale this year but maybe next year someone will buy it.
I'm hoping to take more photos of the snow before it melts later this week. I've also been working on doing some more digital art using vintage images. Here are a few of the newest additions to the store. These use vintage bird images and various textures.
I wanted to share with you today some of the products in firstnightdesign's Store at Zazzle, which is one of my favorite Zazzle stores. There are so many beautiful designs in this store.
Here are a couple of my faves.
And then here is a slideshow featuring some of the popular designs in that store.

New In the Zazzle Store
I've been playing around with some of my vintage images the past couple of days and have added some new items to the Zazzle store. These are vintage images that I have digitally altered in some way.
I think the fish are funny and cute.
Then I played around with some adorable vintage kitty images.
That kitty above reminds me of my kitty, Squishy.
Then I did a couple of cute cats playing sports.
I like what the painting effect I used did to the image as it also made the colors bolder and brighter than in the original vintage image.
Last but not least were these kitties getting married.

Wow! My chick mixed media is on the Redbubble homepage today.
Thanks to Redbubble and the homepage curator who chose to place my artwork among the other amazing artworks on the homepage of Redbubble today. It is a wonderful Christmas present.
