Boot's Chick

Those of you that know my chickens know Boots. Well, now Boots has a chick. The chick is sired by my rooster 5-toes. It is such a sweet little chick. I am keeping it no matter if it is a hen or a rooster when it grows up.

KillDeer Nest

I was out walking in the pasture yesterday and I am so glad I looked down when I did or I would have crushed these beautiful eggs. They are Killdeer eggs. A Few moments later the momma came screaming at me and playing like she was hurt so I would follow her away from the nest. They are such neat little birds. I took a couple of photos of the pretty eggs quickly and then left the area.

The Lambs are Growing like Weeds

I took a few new photos of the lambs this afternoon. They sure are growing up fast. I have 2 more ewes left to lamb and then lambing season will be over here. They look like they will be having them here any day. I hope they have little ewe lambs. I really would like a ewe lamb to keep for the flock since we can't keep all of the rams that have been born. I am keeping this ram though as the new herd sire of the flock once he grows up.

I Love Vintage Children's Books

One of the vintage children's books that I own is The Expressive Readers First Reader by Baldwin and Bender published by the American Book Company in 1911. I have scanned many of the images in the book and added them to products in my zazzle store. You can find the products with the images from the book here. I will still be adding even more of the images from the book later on. I think children's vintage books have some of the best vintage images in them.

It Seems so Strange

Around here today. I am missing hearing the crow of a few roosters. I sold some yesterday at the exotic animal sale. I just had too many. There were 3 that would fly up out of the barn at like 5 am and come up to the house and crow. I missed that this morning. I am pretty sure the people that bought them are going to show them. They said they were really nice and asked if I had ever shown them. They paid $15 a rooster so I highly doubt they are going to be eating them. :) My Internet connection has not been working well today or last week with all the rain and thunderstorms. Hopefully we get a few nice days this week so I can add some more items to my zazzle store. Anyways... Here are some of the newer items in my store that I managed to add when I could get an Internet connection last week.

Here are just a few of the new arrivals to the store.

I sold 1 sheet of these this morning. :) Thank You to whomever purchased them.

It's A Boy, Again!

Badger had her lamb this afternoon. It is a little ram lamb. I will take photos later. I do not want to disturb the new mamma and baby.

I got myself a Nubian on Wed. :) His name is Kalvin Klein or Kal for short. I have wanted a Nubian ever since I was a little girl living in the city. I am so happy to finally be able to live out a childhood dream of mine. He is still on the bottle so he keeps me busy :) He is a very pretty tri-color with lots of spots. He reminds me of a Paint horse.

Here he is as a star of a greeting card :)

Goats And Sheep

A couple of my ewes are finally getting really close to lambing. :) My goat kids are growing like weeds. I am going to be getting up several times overnight to check on the ewes. I wish we had a camera set up that I could just check on them from up at the house without disturbing them. Maybe someday. That is a dream of mine when we finally have our very own place and don't rent to put in a camera system.

Anyways... Here are some of my goat and sheep products for sale as greeting cards, mugs, mouse pads, and more.
