As I settle in to watch it snow we are prepared for more snow to fall from the skies. I'll more than likely take some more snowy photos once the weather breaks. But for now, here are some snowy scenes to enjoy.
The old school was repainted this past summer. I need to go take a photo of it in the snow to compare it to this. I liked the peeling paint but it also looks really pretty with a beautiful new coat of paint on it as well.
This pasture was also cleaned up over the summer. This is a photo I took on a walk down our country road back in the winter of 2008. I really like these horses. I think they are beautiful. Now they have about 10 head of cattle that share their lovely large pastures with all the beautiful oak trees.

Another Winter Wonderland
They say we are going to have a heavy snowfall over the weekend and into Monday. It's already coming down from the skies now as I type. At the moment they say 6-10 inches of snow but they also said it could change depending on how the storm tracks. One good thing about the snow is that it makes it easier to take things down to the barn. You just load them onto the sled and slide them down there. Also snow looks pretty to photograph. But we'll be stuck at home this weekend. Rural roads are the last to be cleared. And then there are all the corn fields that if we get winds the snow really drifts off of them and out onto the roads. I'm not really complaining though. I enjoy snow. It would be nice to see the grass again someday soon though. Well, I'm off to take care of the critters at the barn and then it's time to settle in and watch it snow. Maybe I will do some collage work later tonight or just sit with some popcorn and hot chocolate and watch the Olympics. I've been up since 4:30 this morning which is not really the normal time I wake up.
Some New Animal Photos
I have added several new animal photos to my store here recently. Here are some of them.

Necklace Still Lifes
I don't know why but I have recently found myself taking some still life photos of necklaces. Several of them are on cards at my Greeting Card Store. Others are in my Zazzle store. I don't think that I have the same ones in both stores but a few of them might be in both stores.

Two Little Bottle Goats
Meet Aussie and Rabbit. They are both bottle goats. They were not born here. We are still waiting on the kids that are going to be born here. They said Reba was due in January when we got her back in October but she never had kids in January. I think they got her due date wrong as she is definatly very pregnant. I am thinking there are only a few more weeks to go before she delivers but I can only guess as I don't know for sure. I am watching her closely. Thumbi, Misha, and Paint are due later in the spring as I wanted them to have their kids when it was warmer outside.

And She Picked...
My OWOH winner picked out these two cards. I really hope that she likes them once they arrive. I must admit I haven't actually seen these two in print yet. I am always worried that they won't look as good printed as they do on screen but I have been very very happy with everything I have had printed by Zazzle so I guess I shouldn't worry so much. I have sent in the order and she should have them by next week at the latest.

What do You like Most about where you live?
It's almost time for Top Sites Tuesday again. I'm going to post a day early as it is only Monday here. This week the question is "What do you like most about where you live?"
I love living out here in the country after spending so many years in the city. My horses have always had to live at boarding stables and now they are finally in my backyard in their own pasture with a barn.
And because we have a barn I was able to get chickens. I've wanted chickens ever since I was a little girl but they were illegal to have in the city.
And then I had some fertile Muscovy eggs shipped to me all the way from New York that I hatched out in the incubator and got Pie and 3 other Scovies which got me started in raising Muscovy ducks. I love Scovies. This past summer the hen ducks hatched out ducklings all by themselves so then I had a bunch of ducklings running around the farm.
And last but not least I got goats. Goats are so much fun.
There's even more to love about living out here but I don't want to make this post miles long telling you everything I love about living out here in the country at once. There's also a few things not to like. Such as snow drifts so deep that even with 4-wheel drive you can't get out until a tractor plows the drive and the smell of the hog farms gets quite strong at times. But I will end here. What do you like most about where you live? What don't you like?
