Creating and Loving It
So far so good. I am following my new year's resolution to have fun and create art for my Zazzle store. Above is on of the newest birthday cards in the store.
Here is one of the newest necklaces in the store.
I'm loving playing around with the vintage bird images I have in my collection and creating new works of art with them. I've also used a vintage bird in one of the newest greeting cards in the store.
It's such fun creating for the Zazzle store and avoiding the other store that I used to design for but am no longer going to be designing for. I thought about deleting that store all together but I am going to leave it up since I spent so much time the past few years getting all the designs in the store. I just won't add anything new to it this year and instead all my new artworks will go into my Zazzle store and some will also be sold locally at the store here in town and also at the Farmer's Markets when they start back up again in late spring. Now I feel like creating some more new art so I will see you sometime later. Have a great day! :)

Happy First Monday of 2011
Hello. I hope you had a Happy New Year. I have plans to be creative in 2011. I am giving up creating cards for a certain company which I will not name where the reviewers are difficult to deal with and I going to create more for my Zazzle store. I love to create for Zazzle and don't have to deal with reviewers there except for certain products like shoes and stamps and then the reviews are simple as long as you follow the rules with no questioning and rude remarks from reviewers.
So one of my resolutions this year is to create more and have fun creating art for my Zazzle store.
Here are a couple of the new items just in.

I was happy to see I sold some of my egg business cards this morning. Thanks to the purchaser. :)
Now if only the hens would start laying eggs again. They seem to have gone on a winter strike except for a few pullets who have just started to lay. The crazy weather changes have them messed up as well. On Friday it was in the fifties and then by the end of the day had dropped back to below freezing. Friday morning and afternoon all the duck hens were out and about searching for places to start laying eggs to start nesting and now they are wondering why spring ran away and winter came back. Well, I better go get some work done now. I hope that you have a wonderful year this year.

Hope your Holiday Was Merry
I hope that your holiday weekend was merry. We had a white Christmas here.
I took this photo of Comet just as the snow started to fall on Christmas eve.
I also took this photo and then added grunge textures to it. I know it is too late to sale this year but maybe next year someone will buy it.
I'm hoping to take more photos of the snow before it melts later this week. I've also been working on doing some more digital art using vintage images. Here are a few of the newest additions to the store. These use vintage bird images and various textures.
I wanted to share with you today some of the products in firstnightdesign's Store at Zazzle, which is one of my favorite Zazzle stores. There are so many beautiful designs in this store.
Here are a couple of my faves.

New In the Zazzle Store
I've been playing around with some of my vintage images the past couple of days and have added some new items to the Zazzle store. These are vintage images that I have digitally altered in some way.
I think the fish are funny and cute.
Then I played around with some adorable vintage kitty images.
That kitty above reminds me of my kitty, Squishy.
Then I did a couple of cute cats playing sports.
I like what the painting effect I used did to the image as it also made the colors bolder and brighter than in the original vintage image.
Last but not least were these kitties getting married.

Warm Thoughts
With the cold weather today I thought it would be nice to go back and look at some photos that remind me of warmer days.
Took this one of somebody's foot at the Farmer's Market this summer. I like the pretty sandal.
Today your toes would freeze in no time. Depending on which weather person you listen to the high today will be 8 degrees or 13 degrees.
Water is frozen today. But this abstract photo I took of the fountain in the park where one of the Farmers Markets is held reminds me of warm summer days.
But even though the water is frozen the silly goose decided it was bath time when I went down to the barn to give them a bit of fresh water to drink and tried to take a bath in the water bowl. It's funny how waterfowl don't seem to notice just how cold it is out there and will take a bath no matter what.
This is more of what it actually looks like out there. These are some photo I took awhile back.
There's not quite as much snow as there was when I took these photos.
I want to take some more winter barn photos sometime this winter. It's cold today but boy was it awful yesterday. We only have a bit of snow but we had 50 mph winds yesterday blowing the snow all over the place. I'm glad it is not as bad as it is up in northern Iowa though. One of my chicken friends I met on backyardchickens.com said on the message board today that is is -12 up there and that they have a lot more snow up there. Well, I better get some work done so I will see you sometime later. Hope you are staying warm.

An Award Winner
This poster was awarded a Today's Best Award at Zazzle yesterday. Woot! Thanks Zazzle! :)
I made a couple of new posters yesterday and this morning.
This one was fun to make. I made it for the treasure theme at Pocket Packet Firdays on Paper Digital Art and ImagesbyKim. I really like it so I decided to offer prints of it for sale in my store also.
I also made a couple of new barn posters.
I drove past this barn last week and noticed that it was re-roofed this past summer sometime and that the barn cupola is no longer on it.
I also added this poster to the store as well.
Well, I hope you are staying warm. It is forecast to get quite cold overnight here.
